Your support makes all the difference.In front of a vociferous crowd at London’s o2 Arena, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens beat Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn in the tag team main event after Jericho pushed Ambrose off the top rope and Owens made the quick pin. The match set up two bouts nicely for Payback on 1 May – when Jericho faces Ambrose and Owens meets Zayn.
AJ Styles defeated The Miz after the pair had clashed at the start of the show on his Miz TV segment. In their match, Styles used a Phenomenal Forearm to record the victory, but not before some interference from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, who stopped The Miz walking down the ring and leaving. The incident only furthered speculation that the pair are working with AJ Styles. Will they interfere again in his world title match against Roman Reigns at Payback? Of course.
Gallows and Anderson announced after the match that they will make their in-ring debut on Monday Night Raw – and will take on The Usos.
It may have been a rematch from their bout at WrestleMania 32, but it had a different outcome – Ryback pinned US champion Kalisto in a non-title match after hitting him with the Shellshock.
Baron Corbin continued his vendetta against Dolph Ziggler. This time attacking ‘The Show Off’ before he had even entered the ring, and then connecting with an End of Days outside of the ring. The match never officially started.
Home-favourite Paige teamed up with Natalya to dispatch of Tamina and Naomi. Both Paige and Natalya using their submission manoeuvres to make both of their opponents tap out, much to the delight of the London crowd for the loudest reaction of the night.
R-Truth beat Fandango with Goldust as the special guest referee in a quick, but hilarious match which involved as much dancing as it did grappling.
Though he was not seen on the TV broadcast, Shane McMahon made an appearance in a dark segment, hitting The Miz with a spinning elbow and then throwing him out of the ring.
