The Liverpool ace, who will spearhead England’s attack at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil this summer, scored a deflected curling effort in Wednesday’s 2-1 victory over Sunderland to take his season tally to 20.
But when SBTV came a-knocking, Sturridge was keen to talk about his passion for the squared-circle and how he used to dress up as The Phenom, while also going through his extension shoe collection.
“I would have the hair, the hat, the long jacket and probably the wrestling pumps,” said the 24-year-old. “I would even wear the pants over the top of the trousers too.”
Would he still be dressing up as The Deadman if Liverpool secure an unlikely Premier League title this season?
“You don’t do that these days,” said Sturridge. “You don’t do that.”
He did give hope though in admitting he would still dress up as The Undertaker for any upcoming fancy dress party’s.
