Having seen Kito de Pavant pull out because of keel damage to Groupe Bel, they heard today that Dominque Wavre and partner Michelle Paret had been dismasted in Mirabaud, and they were maintaining the lead recently established over Wouter Verbraak and Andy Meiklejohn in Alex Thomson’s Hugo Boss. The race is still led by 2006 winner Jean-Pierre Dick and new co-skipper Loick Peyron in Virback Paprec, who have 4,000 miles to the finish.
