Wakefield complain over Wood transfer
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Australian half-back had joined the Wolves for a fee of £30,000 after asking to be released from his contract at Trinity.
Wakefield are not to make any complaint over Ben Westwood, the centre they sold to Warrington for £90,000, who made his debut alongside Wood against London Broncos in Carcassonne on Saturday. But the Wolves are already facing another complaint from Batley that they made an illegal approach to the scrum-half Dean Lawford before switching their attention to Wood.
After their defeat to the Broncos, Warrington hope to have three players – Lee Penny, Dean Busby and Steve Maden – fit to return after extended absences against Wigan this Saturday.
The London forward, Scott Cram, will have a brain scan before deciding whether he can play again. Cram collapsed before the recent game against Wigan. Daniel Gartner, Bradford's second-row forward, has agreed to extend his contract with the club to stay until the end of the 2003 season.
Swinton, are hoping to move back closer to their roots after playing at Bury for the last ten years. The Northern Ford Premiership club aim to ground-share with Salford City Football Club from August.
