Wakefield back in the black after win over Harlequins

Wakefield continued to exceed expectations with their third win of the season in a high-scoring affair against Harlequins.

The Wildcats dominated the first half, leading 26-6 at the break. Although Quins came back, Trinity pulled away again to win 52-32, with Ben Jeffries scoring two of their nine tries. The win means they have wiped out their pre-season points deduction.

Hull KR got over a dreadful start against Leeds on Saturday to record a much-needed third win of the season. The Robins trailed to early tries from Lee Smith and Kallum Watkins, but regrouped under the guidance of Ben Galea to win 38-28.

Huddersfield went to the top of the table on Friday night with a surprisingly emphatic 29-10 win over Warrington. The Giants produced an exceptional performance, with outstanding contributions from Luke O'Donnell, Luke Robinson and Jermaine McGillvary.

The biggest shock of the weekend was at Wigan, where the Catalan Dragons, who beat Warrington five days earlier, backed it up by hammering the champions 47-28.

Hull, who hope to complete the signing of Wigan's sacked centre, Martin Gleeson, got a badly-needed win when they beat Bradford 34-24, with the Test winger, Tom Briscoe, getting two of their tries.

St Helens continued their solid form with a 34-18 win at Crusaders, in which James Roby was again their key man.
