Smith likely to take wing at Wembley
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Leeds and Warrington have named their 19-man squads for tomorrow's Challenge Cup final, but the big decisions remain to be made.
The Rhinos' coach, Brian McClennan, is without his long-term injury victims Jamie Peacock and Luke Burgess, but Carl Ablett is included after serving a three-match suspension. He is sure of his Wembley place, with the final spot on the bench to be decided between Greg Eastwood and Ian Kirke.
The other spot up for grabs is on the right wing, where Lee Smith is likely to get the nod ahead of Scott Donald.
Of the Leeds side, only Keith Senior has played in a Wembley final, for Sheffield Eagles in 1998. That is by contrast with opponents Warrington, 14 of whose squad played in last year's victory.
Chris Bridge has been left out, despite testing his fitness successfully in the Carnegie Floodlit Nines on Wednesday. The only other absentee is Simon Grix, who is still recovering from viral pneumonia.
Tony Smith's big decisions will be whether to go with Jon Clarke or Mickey Higham and whether to start with Richie Myler on the bench or on the field.
In the event of a draw after 80 minutes, the replay will be at Bramall Lane on 8 September.
