Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Danny Mcguire's try and the ice-cool the marksmanship of Kevin Sinfield brought Leeds victory at the end of a magnificent match in which they were second best for long periods.
McGuire raced away from a pass by reserve hooker Paul McShane for the crucial score and Sinfield made sure with a drop goal to go with his perfect tally of six place-kicks.
The Wolves dominated the first half-hour and would have been further ahead if Lee Briers had been able to convert any of their three tries. Ben Westwood had started it with the neatest of passes to send Matt King storming over, before Chris Hicks claimed his first from Chris Bridge's expert kick. David Solomona laid one on for Ryan Atkins, but only after Keith Senior had kept Leeds in touch with a 70-metre solo.
Leeds went level when Greg Eastwood steamed on to Danny McGuire's pass and Sinfield kicked his second goal before Briers' cross-field run set up Atkins' second.
Scott Donald cut the margin from Sinfield's kick, although King restored Warrington's lead before Danny Buderus and Ryan Hall gave Leeds the lead for the first time. The try of the match came when Chris Riley started an attack by fielding a kick on his own try-line and finished it three tackles later.
