Senior's injury hands Gleeson a recall

Martin Gleeson has been added to Great Britain's squad for the third Test against Australia at Huddersfield on Saturday. The St Helens centre replaces Keith Senior, who fractured and dislocated his thumb in the second Test defeat at Hull last weekend.

Gleeson was a Great Britain regular last season, before his form slipped this year, but he is now in competition with Gareth Ellis and David Hodgson for a place in the starting line-up at the McAlpine Stadium.

The Australian coach, Chris Anderson, has hinted that he might use the versatile Mick Crocker at stand-off for the final match of the tour. Australia will be without Craig Gower, who tore a calf muscle at Hull, and might normally be expected to switch Craig Wing from centre into a position in which he has plenty of experience.

But Anderson, who has put off naming his team until he consults with his senior players today, suggested that he might opt instead for Crocker, who plays alongside Wing for the Sydney Roosters and has been on the bench for the two Tests so far. He is usually regarded as a hooker or a second-rower.

Whatever his team selection, Anderson has promised a more expansive approach now that the series is won. "We can go out and enjoy ourselves," he said. "The blokes will be a bit more adventurous."

The London Broncos have signed the second-rower Troy Wozniak from Wests Tigers in Australia, who will link up with them for the first time at their warm-weather training camp in Dubai. The club is also giving a two-month trial to the Castleford utility back, Andy McNally.

York have recruited the former Dewsbury loose forward, Damien Ball, and the Huddersfield second-rower Adam Hayes who spent last season playing in Australia, whilst Halifax have re-signed the Irish international three-quarter Richard Smith for a third stint at the club.
