Round-up: New home, same result for wasteful Broncos
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The bulk of the damage was done by the Bulls' centre Michael Platt, who crossed for four tries, two on either side of half-time. London had led through tries from Michael Robertson, Matt Cook and a first for the club from the teenage centre Michael Channing. However, once Karl Pryce brought Bradford back into the game, the Broncos played into their hands with a series of what their coach, Rob Powell, called "simple errors."
A former London player, Luke Gale, rubbed salt in the wounds with a late penalty and drop-goal that effectively clinched the match.
Wigan ended the weekend on top of the Super League table, thanks to their 36-22 victory over Hull KR on Friday and Huddersfield's defeat at the Catalan Dragons. The Warriors will be without Pat Richards for the next 12 weeks following knee surgery, but he was hardly missed against Rovers. His replacement, Anthony Gelling, scored two tries and the stand-in kicker, Josh Charnley, five goals to go with his hat-trick of touchdowns.
The lead changed hands six times in Perpignan, before Thomas Bosc's drop-goal and Vincent Duport's late try gave the Catalans a 27-20 win to keep them in touch with the leaders.
Hull had a spectacular 34-20 win over Leeds, sealed by Tom Briscoe's spectacular long-range second try. St Helens were other convincing winners, overpowering Wakefield 38-12, with Chris Flannery contributing a hat-trick of tries.
