Your support makes all the difference.Ryan McGoldrick and Brent Sherwin's second tries of the game in the last four minutes clinched a 34-18 win for Castleford over the rock-bottom Catalan Dragons in the warm-up act at a chilly Murrayfield.
Castleford dominated the first quarter, building a 10-point lead with tries from Michael Wainwright and McGoldrick.
The Catalans came back into it with Dimitri Pelo's crossfield run to send in Frederic Vaccari and they drew level when Olivier Elima scored from Thomas Bosc's sharp, short pass.
It took something rather special to put Cas back in the lead by half-time, Sherwin kicking to Kirk Dixon on the wing and then taking advantage of an eccentric bounce when Dixon's boot sent the ball back to the middle.
James Evans extended the Tigers' advantage, but Gregory Mounis and Jean-Philippe Baile got over for the Dragons. Mounis missed two kickable conversions and Joe Westerman's penalty underlined the value of a kicker before McGoldrick and Sherwin wrapped it up.
The highlight of Saturday's action was the final game of the four-match marathon, with Leeds coming back from an 18-point deficit just before half-time to beat unlucky Wakefield 34-30.
A hat-trick of tries from the Test winger Ryan Hall kept the Rhinos in touch and Danny Buderus' score two minutes from time gave them the lead for the one and only time, taking the champions into the top eight play-off places for the first time this season.
The afternoon was notable for mighty performances from Crusaders and Harlequins. The Welsh side outclassed Bradford 19-0, with fine performances from Gareth Thomas and the newly arrived Jarron Sammut.
Quins, carrying on in the form that saw them win at Wigan last week, were too good for an insipid Hull, beating them 25-8. The worst display was Salford's against Warrington, who hammered them 68-16 to go top of Super League overnight.
