From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Salford failed to welcome their new coach Matt Parish with a win at Hull KR yesterday. Vinnie Anderson gave them a first-half lead but Ben Galea and Matt Cook tries steered Rovers to a 21-8 victory that keeps them challenging for a top-eight place.

Huddersfield went down heavily at Bradford. The game was won by half-time, with two tries from Paul Sykes instrumental in setting them on their way to an eventual 36-0 win.

Chris Bridge, playing in the unfamiliar position of loose forward, scored four tries as Warrington won 54-24 at Harlequins on Saturday. Matt King was carried off for Wolves after a blow to the head but is expected to be fit for the Challenge Cup tie against Wigan on Saturday.

Crusaders were on their way to a first win in eight games over Castleford, until Rob Parker forced his way over with three minutes to play. Two goals from Kirk Dixon sealed an unconvincing 26-20 win for the Tigers.

Leon Pryce returned for St Helens and played a part in the 40-18 victory over the Catalan Dragons on Friday. The biggest contributor, however, came from Jamie Foster, who scored his first Super League hat-trick.

There was a hat-trick, too, for Gareth Hock in Wigan's 48-6 thrashing of Wakefield. Equally outstanding was Sam Tomkins with two tries in another glittering display at full-back.

Leeds did something they have not achieved for almost two years by holding Hull scoreless at Headingley on the way to a 20-0 win that eases the danger of them missing the play-offs.
