Moore given the all-clear for Wembley
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Scott Moore has been cleared to play for Huddersfield in their Challenge Cup final against Warrington after a nerve-wracking overnight wait. The Giants' hooker was sent to the sin bin and placed on report for a late tackle on Bradford's Paul Deacon on Sunday and a suspension of two games or more would have ruled him out of the big occasion at Wembley.
But Rugby League's match review panel has ruled that he has no further case to answer. The view of the panel was that Moore had originally made contact with Deacon's shoulder and that he did not deliberately raise his forearm.
There is some fall-out, however, from Bradford's victory at the Galpharm Stadium, with the Bulls' Semi Tadulala charged with pulling the hair of one of the game's few pony-tailed players, Eorl Crabtree.
Warrington's Lee Briers is hoping that he is a step closer to playing at Wembley after a second examination on a facial injury. Briers missed the second half at Wigan last Friday after taking a blow to the mouth.
