Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

New Salford City Reds head coach Matt Parish guest stars in the latest edition of the ever popular PROBIZ Tryline.

In this week’s podcast, Parish chats about his hopes for the Reds while outlining what the players and fans can expect from a team coached by him.

The Australian has made no secret of his desire to eventually take charge of an NRL club back home, but he knows in order for that to happen, he must get this opportunity with both hands by making his mark in Super League.

He is a big admirer of Nathan Brown at Huddersfield and Michael Maguire of Wigan and would love nothing better than to emulate their success since moving to UK.

Parish watched from the stands last weekend, as his new team turned in a below par performance against Hull FC, before starting work with the Reds players on Monday.

It’s certainly been an eventful few days for him after flying over to England, following the end of his involvement in the State of Origin series as an assistant coach for the New South Wales.

The Independent’s Dave Hadfield is also on hand in this edition of the PROBIZ Tryline, to offer up his views on the last round of Super League as well as previewing the matches coming up this weekend.

And if that wasn’t enough, there is a comprehensive review of the big stories from your clubs from the last seven days with Paul Mottram in Stop the Press.

The PROBIZ Tryline is available download directly from iTunes and here on independent.co.uk. Click here for more details.
