Mason injury adds to Castleford's pain
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

"He's in a lot of pain. There's definitely something wrong with him," said Brown. "If Keith needs a few weeks off, he needs a few weeks off."
That blow is eased by the expected return of Eorl Crabtree for Sunday's fixture against Crusaders.
Brown declined to comment on suggestions that he has changed his mind about returning to Australia at the end of this season and now wants to stay at Huddersfield.
The club also say they are in the dark about any change of plan. They are still expected to appoint Brown's assistant, Paul Anderson, later this year.
Castleford have agreed a two-year contract extension, until the end of 2013, with their highly-rated wing/full-back, Richard Owen. Cas have moved to secure Owen despite him being out for the rest of the year with a broken leg. The Tigers now turn their attention to trying to retain the England centre, Michael Shenton, a target for St Helens.
The Wigan forward, Andy Coley, will face a charge of making a reckless high tackle on the Catalan Dragons' Jamal Fakir at today's disciplinary hearing.
Hull have signed 17-year-old Reece Lyne, until the end of 2013. Lyne has played just one Super League match, but is regarded as one of the game's hottest prospects.
The Hull KR centre, Michael Ratu, will miss the rest of the season with a damaged shoulder.
