Kearney to leave Kiwis in Britain
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Kiwi coach, Stephen Kearney, has decided not to select players like Wigan's Thomas Leuluai for the Trans-Tasman Test on 7 May. Bringing home players from Britain has caused major problems of club versus country in the past and the Test this year clashes with the fifth round of the Challenge Cup.
Iosia Soliola of St Helens, Greg Eastwood of Leeds and Huddersfield's David Fa'alogo all played in the fixture last year, but were then all with Australian clubs, before joining Super League clubs this season.
Hull's former Australian Test hooker, Shaun Berrigan, broke his collarbone in the defeat at Leeds on Sunday. Berrigan will be out of action for eight weeks starting with this weekend's rematch between the same two clubs in the Challenge Cup. Danny Houghton is his likely replacement.
Hull hope to have Craig Fitzgibbon, Richard Horne and Danny Tickle back in their side at the KC Stadium, but Sean Long is unlikely to be fit.
