Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Keighley coach, Barry Eaton, has hit out at Super League clubs for complaining about having to play two games over Easter.
The Cougars' part-time players had their third Championship game in six days at Halifax last night and it is them that Eaton says deserve the sympathy, not the full-time professionals of Super League.
"All they have to do is rest and recover, but I've got players who are working all day before training or working nights," Eaton, whose side started the season with the extra handicap of a nine-point deduction for going into administration, told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.
"I see no problem in Super League teams playing Friday and Monday. They only have to do it once so they shouldn't complain about it."
The Rugby League is hoping to name the new England coach on Wednesday. Bradford's Steve McNamara has emerged as the favourite, following the Bulls' admission that they have yet to talk to him about extending his current contract at the club.
