Doncaster have put off a decision on whether to pursue their interest in Paul Cooke until after Christmas.

The former Hull, Hull KR and Wakefield stand-off, one of the game's most naturally talented and controversial players at his peak, has been out of the game for over a year since being released by the Wildcats. He has been dealing with family issues and doing media work, but now, aged 30, he is keen to play again.

He has told Doncaster that, if he can combine it with working in the club's development department, he is prepared to play for match payments only.
