The former St George and Canterbury centre has joined the Catalan Dragons on a two-year contract, but will not play for them against Trinity on Saturday.
“It took more than three weeks of negotiations to get him,” said the Catalans’ chairman, Bernard Guasch. “He’s a young, fast and elegant player and the kind of player we need.”
Millard, who played in the last World Cup for Fiji, becomes the third Wildcats player to be sold by the administrators running the club until the local businessman, Andrew Glover, who has agreed to buy it, completes his takeover.
Sam Obst has gone to Hull, whilst Dale Ferguson has been transferred to Huddersfield.
Leeds have re-signed four of their leading young players on extended contracts. Ryan Hall, Ben Jones-Bishop, Chris Clarkson and Kallum Watkins have all agreed new deals that will keep them at the club until at least 2114.
The Rhinos have added Paul McShane, Ryan Bailey and the potential debutant, Weller Hauraki, to their squad to travel to Hull tomorrow night.
St George-Illawarra have named 14 of the players who won last season’s NRL Grand Final in their 20-man squad to play Wigan in the World Club Challenge on 27 February. Dean Young and Kyle Stanley are included, but will not play because of injury.
Unlike their recent predecessors, St George are not playing a warm-up match, but will spend five days training in London.
“Wigan are a quality team and will be a huge challenge for us, especially on their home soil, but one that we are all looking forward to,” said their coach, Wayne Bennett.
Wigan’s Jeff Lima has resigned himself to missing the match after deciding against appealing his two-match suspension for dangerous tackling in Cardiff.
