Cummins in frame for England job

Leeds' assistant coach, Francis Cummins, has been sounded out by the Rugby League as a shock candidate for the vacant England coaching job. Cummins, who has never coached at top level, is apparently being considered as part of a coaching team which could also include a senior figure from overseas such as Australia's Wayne Bennett.

Hull KR have filed accounts which show that they were already over £3m in debt before losing £450,000 on last season. The board is willing to continue to underwrite the debts and to fund further investment in the club.

Hunslet are threatening to sue Leeds City Council for loss of income from the late postponement of their Boxing Day friendly against Keighley at a council stadium. The match was called off 25 minutes before kick-off.
