Jones-Buchanan (right) joined his home-town club 14 years ago and his new deal will take him beyond his 33rd birthday.
"My intention is to finish my playing career here and only ever play for Leeds," said the second-rower or prop, who played in all England's games in the recent Four Nations.
The former Harlequins captain Rob Purdham has retired on medical advice at the age of 31. Purdham, who was awarded a testimonial last season after ten years in London, decided to return home to Cumbria after the death of his brother, Garry, in the Whitehaven shootings, and the illness of his father.
He was considering an offer to play again for his other professional club, Whitehaven, but has been advised to retire after a succession of shoulder injuries.
The Rugby League is to announce rule changes next week, including reducing the permitted number of interchanges from 12 to 10.
