Bradford await Paul's decision

Henry Paul will fly back from defeat with New Zealand this weekend to tell Bradford whether he will be taking flight permanently. Paul was in the Kiwi side beaten 28-10 by Australia in Wellington yesterday and has promised the Bulls to tell them on his return whether he will sign a new contract or leave, probably for rugby union in New Zealand. He and his brother, Robbie, produced uneven performances for the Kiwis, making crucial mistakes in the first half as Australia built up a match-winning lead.

The Pauls will arrive back in Britain tomorrow, but too late to be involved in Bradford's match against Castleford, which has been switched from 6pm to 3pm because of fans' concerns about the volatile situation in the area around Valley Parade.

Leeds, the club that have shown the most interest in signing Jonah Lomu in the past, has reacted warily to the news that the All Black winger wants to play league. "We've been down that road with him twice, and both times he's been full of enthusiasm and saying all the right things, only to change his mind at the end," said chief executive Gary Hetherington.
