The hooker Andy Henderson scored two tries on his debut – his first after just two minutes – as did Matt Leigh, while Shane Irabor ran in for a hat-trick. Phil Atkinson kicked nine goals to leave York rooted to the foot of the table.
Hull Kingston Rovers lead the Northern Ford Premiership after a 28-6 win at Swinton. The visitors led 12-6 at the break with a brace of tries from Jimmy Walker and two conversions from Chris Charles and pulled away in the second half with tries from Bob Everitt, Rob Wilson and Craig Murdock. Charles added two more goals to complete the rout, with Stuart Dickinson scoring the Lions' first-half try. Whitehaven also have maximum points after running in four tries to beat Dewsbury 27-2. Leigh maintained their perfect start to the season with a 22-11 win at Batley.
Workington earned their first win at Featherstone since 1954 with two late tries to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season. Trailing 17-10 with just three minutes left, they seized victory when the wing Neil Frazer went over with just 20 seconds left.
Unbeaten Rochdale came from behind to beat Hunslet 28-20 at South Leeds Stadium.
Elsewhere, Keighley beat Chorley 22-16 and Sheffield ran in six tries in their 34-2 win over Gateshead at Don Valley.
