Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Librettist, running for the first time since he finished fifth in the Dewhurst Stakes two years ago, brought cheer to the Godolphin team with a two-length victory at Nottingham yesterday. He was a first winner for Saeed Bin Suroor for 27 days and the stable's first runner since closing its doors two weeks ago after a poor start to the British season.

The Danzig four-year-old made all under Frankie Dettori to beat Alfie Flits by two lengths. "I heard the commentator say the boys in blue are back," said Bin Suroor. "I hope he's right."

Godolphin's prime contender at Royal Ascot the week after next will be Dubai World Cup winner Electrocutionist in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes. Yesterday Pam Sly nominated another of the Group One features, the Coronation stakes, for her 1,000 Guineas heroine Speciosa, fourth in last week's Oaks. "Better to keep her with three-year-olds than the hardened older mares in the Falmouth next month," said the Peterborough handler.
