West Ham will look to complete a fine eight days with a point or three at Sunderland while West Bromwich Albion entertain Newcastle. Rugby's Premiership gets underway again in earnest with Leeds hosting the Saints, Sarries at home to Quins and Exeter coming up to Wasps. And it was day three of the Second Test in Adelaide, in case you are from another planet.
Tomorrow
Gérard Houllier returns to Anfield as his Aston Villa side face old muckers Liverpool. And in London it's the British Racing Drivers Club annual awards. Let's hope they don't drive home.
Tuesday
Tottenham will be looking to secure top spot in their Champions' League group away to Twente Enschede, while Rangers are at Bursaspor and Manchester Utd take on visitors Valencia. But far more importantly, FC United have a Cup replay at home to Brighton. Should be at Old Trafford.
Wednesday
Arsenal will be desperate to beat Partizan Belgrade to go through to the knock-out stages in the Champions' League after two defeats in a row. Chelsea's Didier Drogba returns to his old stomping (diving?) ground at Marseille in another meaningless game.
Thursday
Paul Gascoigne is due in court for sentencing on drink-driving charges. Can someone bring him some chicken and a fishing rod to keep him happy?
Friday
Championship high-fliers QPR and Swansea entertain Watford and Millwall respectively, while the Heineken Cup's long weekend starts here with Glasgow against Toulouse. England take a break from their back-to-back Tests with a tour match against Victoria – expect the bowlers to put their huge feet up.
Saturday
It's two of the surprising form teams against each other as Blackpool travel to Stoke, while Newcastle are at home to Liverpool, Aston Villa take on West Bromwich Albion and Manchester City look to show their superiority over hosts West Ham. In the Heineken Cup, Northampton entertain Cardiff Blues, Bath travel to Ulster, Sarries are at home to Racing Metro and Leicester make the long journey to Perpignan. But tonight is fight night with three world title bouts: Dereck Chisora faces the mighty Wladimir Klitschko, Nathan Cleverly tries to out-smart Alejandro Lakatos and Amir Khan defends his title against the dangerous Marcos Maidana.
