The 15-year-old took Great Britain's first gold medal of the championships earlier this week when he won the 10m platform. Yesterday he returned to the Foro Italico with his new partner after his pairing with Blake Aldridge was terminated, and the duo reached today's final in 10th place after a poor penultimate dive had dropped them from sixth.

Funk gets moving in Senior Open
American Fred Funk stretched his lead to three strokes by carding a 65 in the Senior British Open second round yesterday. Funk, who started the day with a two-shot cushion, finished with an 11-under tally of 129, three ahead of former European Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance (65) at Sunningdale. Loren Roberts (68) was in third place on 134, one in front of MichaelAllen (65) and Tom Kite (68). Tom Watson, runner-up in last week’s Open at Turnberry, hit a 69 for 136.
