The world steeplechase champion won her first race back in the 10km in Madrid yesterday, having been away from the sport for a year in which she was banned for doping in December, gave birth in May, and then cleared of the aforementioned charge in July.
That's quite a 12 months, so what's next for Spain's top sportswoman? She is set to enter a totally different kind of race – running for a seat in the Spanish senate next month. And then? The Olympics. It looks like the year ahead will be just as hectic as the past one, although she will no doubt hope for a smoother ride.
The Bad: Jordan Ibe
The 15-year-old, who had just scored his first professional goal to equalise for Wycombe in their 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, ran to celebrate with his proud parents in the stand. That was until referee Chris Sarginson saw fit to book the ecstatic youngster. What an old curmudgeon.
