Team Sky head coach Shane Sutton has left his job and moved into an advisory role with the British outfit.
No explanation was given for Sutton's decision, which only emerged today when his profile on the team's website changed to say he was "stepping back from a day-to-day role within the team."
Explaining his new role, the Australian said he is "working in a support role alongside Dave [Brailsford, the team principal] as an adviser and a troubleshooter."
Sutton is the latest senior figure to leave Team Sky, with lead sports director Sean Yates also exiting in October. He remains head coach of the British Cycling governing body.
