Manny Pacquiao has said he will fight on despite pleas from his mother and wife to retire after his brutal defeat by Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez.
The knockout of the former eight-division world champion, his second successive defeat, came in the sixth round of their non-title fight in Las Vegas last Saturday and resulted in his wife, Jinkee, and mother, Dionisia, making tearful appeals for the Filipino to quit.
But Pacquiao, 33, said: "I'm looking forward to a rest and then I'll be back to fight."
Pacquiao has interests outside the ring with work as a politician, hosting a television game show and preaching. He added: "I am OK. I just got overconfident in this fight. That is part of the game – sometimes you win, sometimes you lose."
