The pair meet in a hugely anticipated world super-middleweight title rematch at the O2 Arena in London, three years after their epic scrap in Kessler's native Denmark when the home fighter won by a unanimous decision.
This time around International Boxing Federation champion Froch is in better form, having become a three-time world champion, while Kessler, who holds the lesser World Boxing Association title, has endured a more turbulent time, and took an extended break because of an eye injury before returning with three victories.
The Nottingham man insists the rematch will be every bit as thrilling as their first fight. "This will be one not to miss," he said. "It's going to be an unbelievable, fantastic, phenomenal, vicious, brutal, barbaric fight and one I'm going to win.In the first fight we stood toe-to-toe and went at it for 12 hard rounds and I didn't get the decision. I've wanted to go at it again ever since and finally I've got the chance."
Kessler is keen to prove he was a worthy winner last time, by repeating the feat. "Carl's ready, I'm ready," he said. "Someone asked me 'what's in it for you? Why go there and do the rematch?' And I said, 'you know what, because this is the fight I want'.
"I don't see a bigger fight in the world right now. I want to fight the best. I shook Carl's hand and said I'm going to come to your home country to fight you and that's why I'm here."
Carl Froch v Mikkel Kessler is live on Sky Sports HD Box Office on Saturday
