From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The 2015 Men's Boat Race takes place on the Tideway on Saturday 11 March, with the main event due to get underway at 5.50pm.

Next to Putney Bridge, the crews of Oxford and Cambridge University rowing teams will line-up before getting the call to begin the gruelling course, which stretches 4 miles and 374 yards along the River Thames.

The actual start line is marked by the first University Stone on the south bank of the river, and it's this part of the race that has often proven the most difficult to get right with both boats floating with the tide.

But once they're away, the battle begins, and along the route they'll pass such iconic London landmarks such as Fulham' Craven Cottage, Hammersmith Bridge and The Bandstand.

Finally, the two teams will round Surrey bend and head towards Chiswick Bridge, where the 2015 Boat Race winner will be crowned.
