Olympics: Eberharter strikes gold
Stephan Eberharter claimed Austria's second gold medal in eight alpine events when he won the giant slalom.
And for the second time in eight days America's Bode Miller rallied for a silver medal.
Eberharter, the overwhelming World Cup leader claimed his first gold medal after winning silver in the super giant slalom and bronze in the downhill.
A nine–time winner during the 2001–02 season, Eberharter blitzed the field with an opening run of 1 minute 11.98 seconds and was a comfortable .88sec better than Miller with 2:23.28 after the two runs.
Lasse Kjus of Norway won his second medal of the Games, taking the bronze in 2:24.32 after winning silver behind Austria's Fritz Strobl in the downhill.
