The Airwaves Ducati rider was two seconds down on Karl Harris as they splashed into the final lap at the North Yorkshire circuit, but he reeled him in to take his first success of the campaign by just 0.090sec.
Haslam is now three points behind the series leader Ryuichi Kiyonari, winner of the first race, but who took fifth, running adrift of Gregorio Lavilla and Shane Byrne, in the second. Lavilla is now third in the rankings with 292pts, while Kiyonari leads the title stakes 310-307 over Haslam.
