Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Scottish Rocks defeated Guildford Heat 88-72 in Glasgow last night and re-opened a two-point lead at the top of the BBL over second-placed Newcastle Eagles. The Rocks pulled away from the Heat in the second half after leading 37-36 at the interval. Rob Yanders led the Rocks scorers with 24 points.
Chester Jets, the defending champions who have spent this season trying to climb out of the BBL basement, have rekindled memories of their glory days by signing 35-year-old James Hamilton for a third spell with the club.
The 6ft 7in Hamilton was part of the hugely successful Jets side that collected all four trophies in the 2000-01 season and played in three of four consecutive BBL Trophy Final successes for the Jets between the 2000 and 2004 victories, winning six titles with the club. Hamilton will make his third Jets debut tomorrow against Scottish Rocks.
