From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford will be re-united in the Olympic Stadium in what organisers hope will be another "Super Saturday" as the high point of this summer's Anniversary Games.

Ennis will compete in two events, the long jump and the 100m hurdles, as part of her build-up towards August's world championships in Moscow, while Farah will run the 3,000m and Rutherford take part in the long jump, the events in which they won gold last summer. The other two British athletics medal winners from London 2012 – Christine Ohuruogu and Robbie Grabarz – will also take part.

The meeting, expected to take place in front of a capacity 65,000 crowd, will be held between 26-28 July and 14 of the 16 Paralympic medal winners will compete in the IPC international challenge event on the Sunday. David Weir and Hannah Cockcroft, the two missing Paralympic medallists, may also participate depending on the events they plan to compete in at the world championships in Lyon that weekend. Today, the international athletes who will compete in London will be revealed.

"I have amazing memories of competing in the Olympic Stadium last year and it will be good to step out on that track again in front of a British crowd," said Ennis. "I will never forget the noise the crowd made when I competed last August."

The Anniversary Games form part of the season's Diamond League series, which begins next month. It will be one of only two outings for Ennis before the world championships. She is also expected to compete in a heptathlon in Tallinn. Tickets for the London event go on sale on Friday to those who register before midnight on Wednesday. Unsold seats will go on general release next week.
