Italian high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi caused a stir today, turning up at the European Indoor Championships in Prague with a beard on half of his face and the other half clean shaven.

Just like his shaving technique, he didn't quite complete the job in the finals either - he finished in seventh place.

According to reports, Tamberi, 22, likes to turn up to events with half of his beard shaved for luck. He didn't have much luck today.
