Nottingham Forest defeated Singapore's national team 3-1 in an exhibition match in Singapore yesterday. Ian Woan opened scoring in the 20th minute before Stan Collymore dribbled through the defence to put Forest 2-1 ahead. Gary Bull made the game safe by scoring the final goal in the 86th minute.

Giovanni Trapattoni has signed a one-year contract to coach Cagliari, sixth in Italy's Serie A, next season after just one year with Bayern Munich. Trapattoni, the first Italian to manage a German Bundesliga club, has already been replaced by Otto Rehagel at Bayern next season.
