From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. England Women are set to play home fixtures against Northern Ireland and Canada in the coming months as they prepare for next year's home Euros.

The Lionesses' first competitive match in nearly 12 months sees them take on Northern Ireland on 23 February, behind closed doors at St George's Park.

Canada then visit on 13 April, with a venue yet to be confirmed.

New assistant coach Hege Riise will take charge of England Women for the fixtures, following Phil Neville's decision to step down as head coach last month to manage MLS side Inter Miami.

Neville's successor, Netherlands coach Sarina Wiegman, will start her role with the Lionesses in September.

A statement released by the Football Association on Thursday read: "With The FA continuing to work with the Government to get fans back into stadiums as soon as is safe to do so, any ticketing arrangements will becommunicated to supporters when relevant."

England last took on Northern Ireland in 2008 in a Uefa European Women's Championship qualifying match, with the Lionesses emerging victorious.

The upcoming clash with Canada marks the return of former England Women assistant coach Bev Priestman, who left the Lionesses' set-up in October to take over as Canada's head coach.

England last faced Canada in April 2019, losing 1-0.

The Women's Euros were set to be held this summer but have been delayed by a year following the postponement of the men's tournament from 2020 to 2021.
