From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Nicklas Bendtner does not have a club to play for anymore after Arsenal let him go at the end of last season, and he does not seem to be going out of his way to find a new one. Does he even care? Judging by this picture, it appears not.

Here is a picture he proudly posted of himself on his Instagram account today, where he is relaxing in the sun, with just a bra protecting his modesty.

He wrote in the caption: "Remember to protect yourself against the sun."

Bendtner has been linked with moves to Eintracht Frankfurt and Aston Villa this summer, after his eight-year spell at Arsenal came to an end after the club decided against renewing his contract.

The Danish striker has scored just 24 goals in a total of 106 Premier League matches for the Gunners between 2005 and 2014, and has been out on loan spells in two of the past three seasons, with Sunderland and then Juventus.

Bendtner scored two goals in 12 matches in all competitions for the Gunners last season.
