Milan open to Becks return
Milan manager Leonardo says the club would welcome England international David Beckham back to the San Siro. The midfielder impressed at the Serie A side on a six-month loan from LA Galaxy last season and visited his former team-mates at their LA training ground. "David had and has a good rapport with all of us," Leonardo said. "He is a good person and the fact he came to see us was a nice gesture. David is a very intelligent player and could come back into my plans, because he can fit into any system."
Dons track Pilgrims pair
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee hopes to complete the signings of Plymouth defender Jim Paterson and striker Steve MacLean. Twenty-nine-year-old full-back Paterson played under McGhee at Motherwell, while MacLean has struggled for form at Home Park. "I think we have the opportunity to get Jim on loan and maybe even Steve MacLean," McGhee said. Trialist Reda Johnson could also be close to moving to Pittodrie after impressing on a pre-season trip to Austria.
Huntelaar decision close
Tottenham Hotspur expect to hear today whether they have been succesful in persuading Real Madrid forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to reject an £18m move to Stuttgart in favour of a switch to White Hart Lane. The 25-year-old Netherlands striker is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu, just six months after joining the Spaniards, following the summer arrivals of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Spurs are also reported to be close to agreeing a deal for Ports-mouth and England forward Peter Crouch.
Brown to talk to Zamora
Hull manager Phil Brown will hold talks with Fulham striker Bobby Zamora this week after the clubs agreed a £5m deal. "I will get together with him on Monday or Tuesday and show him around the place," Brown said of the 28-year-old. "Hopefully he likes what he sees. People will question that Bobby is not prolific, but he is a very good holding player."

Pearce pens deal with Posh
Birmingham's Krystian Pearce has joined Peterborough on a season-long loan. The England under-19 defender, yet to make his Blues debut, spent last season at Scunthorpe as they gained promotion to the Championship and has also had spells with Notts County and Port Vale.

Young Spurs bid turned down
Aston Villa have turned down an offer of £18m from Tottenham for midfielder Ashley Young. Liverpool are also monitoring developments over the 24-year-old, whose fine form last season earnt him an England debut.
