From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Player: Djibril Cisse

Club: QPR

Possible move to: Al-Ghararafa

Time left on deal: 18 months

The story: Cisse is always a man on the move. QPR have invested heavily in Loic Remy and could go back in for Peter Odemwingie after their first offer was turned down. That should tell Cisse his future is not at Loftus Road.

Chance of moving: Four stars

Player: Derek Boateng

Club: FC Dnipro

Possible move to: Aston Villa

Time left on deal: Two-and-a-half years

The story: Paul Lambert desperately needs a holding midfielder (along with a few other things) during the January transfer window to stop his club falling out of the Premier League. Boateng's move to Fulham has still to go through and Villa could pounce.

Chance of moving: Three stars

Player: Fraizer Campbell

Club: Sunderland

Possible move to: Cardiff

Time left on deal: Six months

The story: Campbell is on his way out at the Stadium of Light, with limited chances under Martin O'Neill. Hull want the forward as well but Championship leaders Cardiff have entered the race for his signature.

Chance of moving: Three stars

Player: Maarten Stekelenburg

Club: Roma

Possible move to: Fulham

Time left on deal: Two-and-a-half years

The story: Martin Jol wants to sign a new goalkeeper during the January transfer window and could be about to land Stekelnburg, who he had when he was in charge at Ajax.

Chance of moving: Three stars
