Real Madrid could make David De Gea the most expensive goalkeeper ever.

Los Blancos are searching for a replacement for Iker Casillas, who has severely declined in recent seasons, and see the Manchester United star as someone who could become the club’s No 1 for many years to come.

The Daily Express report that a potential fee for De Gea could surpass the £33million Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001. However, The Sun report that the Spanish goalkeeper has told United team-mates he is happy at Old Trafford.

Another goalkeeper who could be on the move is Chelsea No 2 Petr Cech, who is a target of Liverpool.

The Daily Mirror state that Brendan Rodgers will try and make a loan move for the Czech international in January, with Simon Mignolet’s terrible form leaving Rodgers no choice but to drop him for the game at Old Trafford.

We reported that Rodgers has also vowed to keep Raheem Sterling at Anfield despite interest from Bayern Munich.

Liverpool are also keep an eye on Saido Berahino, as are Tottenham Hotspur. The West Brom striker, who has seven Premier League goals this season, is locked in a contract dispute with his club and The Sun say the two clubs could be tempted to make a move should Berahino not find a resolution at The Hawthorns.

The Reds also see Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette as an option to fire them up the table, according to the Mirror.

Crystal Palace are considering an audacious move for former Chelsea, Arsenal and England star Ashley Cole, who has struggled to adapt to life in Italy. The Daily Mail report that the Eagles are considering a loan move for the 33-year-old, who spent half a season on loan at Selhurst Park in 2000.
