While on Confederations Cup duty the Uruguay international has been claiming he is unhappy in the Premier League due to the media's treatment of him. The 26-year-old has also been hinting at a desire to play for Real Madrid.
Yet Liverpool are in no mood to let their best player leave - at least not easily.
The club have stuck by the former Ajax player through some difficult moments since he joined for £22.8m in 2011. Suarez has been accused of diving, found guilty of racism towards Patrice Evra and most recently banned for 10 matches for biting Branislav Ivanovic.
The Anfield hierarchy are understood to be less than impressed by Suarez's comments in light of their support for him and will make it difficult for him to leave.
That will involve demanding he makes an official written transfer request, something that would see Suarez lose his right to a percentage of his sell-on fee.
Should Suarez leave, his most likely destination is Real Madrid, where it is no secret they are in demand of a new striker. However, it's thought they are unwilling to meet the £40m Liverpool will demand for the player.
