Tottenham are planning to make a move for PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi when the transfer window opens in January, according to reports.

Spurs are eager to add to their attacking options with Emmanuel Adebayor falling out of favour over the summer. While the Togo striker remains at the club, he has been asked to train away from the first-team squad and it seems unlikely he will feature in Andre Villas-Boas' plans again.

That leaves just summer recruit Roberto Soldado and the ageing Jermain Defoe as options to lead the line, giving rise to an expectation Spurs will look to bring in another option as soon as possible.

Lavezzi has emerged as a target after falling down the pecking order at PSG following the arrival of Edinson Cavani.

The Argentina international is eager for more first team chances in the run-up to next summer's World Cup in Brazil and is consequently thought to be open to a move away from Paris.

The 28-year-old, who joined PSG from Napoli in 2012, would cost Spurs in the region of £15m.

Lavezzi joins Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez as a potential target.
