The 24-year-old's future has been subject to much discussion over the previous months after reports in Europe claimed that he may be be open to a return to Borussia Dortmund.
It had also been suggested, in the wake of Juan Mata's imminent £37m switch to the Premier League holders, that Kagawa may be deemed surplus to requirements by United boss David Moyes.
The Japan international has struggled to exhibit his best form at Old Trafford since arriving at the club in the summer of 2012 and has been unable to hold down a regular place in Moyes' side.
Kagawa's agent, Thomas Kroth, insists that any links with a transfer back to Germany are just conjecture and that Mata's arrival will not affect his future at United.
"At this moment I am sure Shinji will stay. There has been no contact and so it is just rumours," Kroth told Sky Sports.
When asked if the Mata deal would affect Kagawa's future at the club, he said: "No, it is my opinion that he will stay."
