From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Nicklas Bendtner has hardly made an impression since pulling his Arsenal shirt back on after a couple of loan spells. Despite that, the Danish striker is tipping himself for a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in January.

Another rather surprising candidate for a move to Barcelona is Dimitar Berbatov. The Fulham striker has not been at his best this season, but apparently Nou Camp boss Gerard Martino wants to bring in some experience in January and the former Spurs man fits the bill.

With all the new arrivals over the summer at Tottenham, it was inevitable that some of those who were already there would be linked with moves away in January. Cue a story that suggests Moussa Dembele is unsettled, and that (according to the Daily Express) Newcastle and Aston Villa are interested in signing the Belgium international.

Liverpool have apparently beaten Arsenal to the signing of Will Hughes. The highly rated Derby midfielder will join in January in a £12m deal according to The Sun.

Could the future of QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar finally be resolved this January? It would seem amid the poor form of Joe Hart, Manchester City could make an approach for the Brazilian according to the Telegraph.
