The striker has only two goals in 19 games for West Ham and has been given the all clear to leave the club.
Maiga even trained with the Championship club this week as Harry Redknapp considers making a move for the 26-year-old.
However Redknapp is also thought to be considering moves for Auxerre forward Paul Georges-Ntep, said to be on the radar of Arsenal.
Another rumoured QPR target is Inter Milan’s Ishak Belfodil as Redknapp attempts to add more goals to a side that have registered just 29 in 25 games this season.
