French giants Monaco are reportedly on the verge of making an offer for Blackpool winger Tom Ince, hoping to secure the England Under-21 star cheaply as his contract runs down.

Playing under the management of his father, Paul, at Blackpool who also played abroad at Inter Milan, the 21-year-old is thought to be keeping his options open as fears grow at the Championship club that they could lose their star asset for nothing.

Cardiff City came close to snapping up Ince last summer, but a last minute change of heart scuppered the £8m deal.

Other interested clubs include Dutch champions Ajax and Capital One Cup holders Swansea City, but Monaco have the financial foundations to overwhelm any offer which they may have planned.

According to The Mirror the youngster is now eyeing a foreign move after years of speculation linking him with the Premier League and Monaco look set to snap him up for a nominal fee.

Ince has scored on seven occasions in the Championship this season but six of those came in the first ten games this season, with only one in the last eleven.
