Manchester United's deadline-day recruitment drive will not include a pursuit of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.

The odds on Ozil joining United plummeted this morning amid speculation the Germany star would prefer to join the Red Devils rather than Arsenal, who it is reported have agreed a fee with Real Madrid.

But Press Association Sport understands Red Devils chief David Moyes has not identified Ozil as a target and has no intention of hijacking any deal Arsenal may be working on.
