Your support makes all the difference.Wayne Rooney may have started the season in fine form, scoring 10 goals and looking settled again at Manchester United, but the club will reportedly not start talks with the forward over a new contract before the end of the year.
The 28-year-old’s contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2015, so he will enter the final 18 months of his deal in January, but negotiations will be delayed as United, who sit eighth in the Premier League after an indifferent start under David Moyes, look to add some new additions. Everton's Leighton Baines, and Ilkay Gundogan, from Borussia Dortmund, have been linked.
Rooney’s situation at United is now in far different to what it was during the summer, when he wanted to leave the club, with offers from Chelsea rejected, and the England forward now seems content under Moyes, as opposed to former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
United are also maintaining an interest in Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, who appeared to come close to a move to Old Trafford last summer only for a transfer to collapse. Representatives who arrived in Spain were said to be sent from the Premier League champions, but later were revealed to be Spanish lawyers tasked with structuring the problematic move from the Basque club.
