Luke Shaw is ready to turn down Manchester United to wait for a move to Chelsea, according to reports.

David Moyes reportedly offered £22m for the Southampton left back last week, as he looks to get the move done this January.

However Chelsea are extremely keen to sign the youngster who they see as the long-term successor to Ashley Cole.

United want to try and force a deal through before the end of this window, according to reports, but Southampton are reluctant to sell unless their valuation of the player is met.

However it is understood that Shaw is prepared to turn down United safe in the knowledge that Chelsea, his boyhood club, are also interested in him in the summer, when Southampton are more likely to sell.
